On August 30th, 2010 the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced the issuance of final rules regarding the regulation of off-exchange retail foreign exchange (Forex) transactions and intermediaries. The rules go into effect on October 18, 2010 and implement provisions of both the CFTC Reauthorization Act of 2008 (Farm Bill) and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 (Dodd-Frank Act).

Please carefully read the information below, as you may be required to take action in order to maintain your business with FXDD. How do the new rules affect your account?
The rules amend and enhance existing regulations and create new regulations to apply specifically to Forex intermediaries and transactions.
The main point includes: - New Margin Requirements - The CFTC has set the margin requirements to a minimum of 2% for major currencies and 5% for exotic currencies. The NFA will review these parameters periodically and amend the rules as the NFA deems necessary with final approval resting with the CFTC. Please make sure that your accounts have been properly margined to account for the changes.
- These changes will go into effect after the close on Friday October 15th and therefore the new margin requirements will be in full force and effect on Sunday night, October 17th, at the opening of trading. If your account is not properly margined, you run the risk of liquidation when the margin requirements are reset on our system.
