• What’s the Pivot Point ?

Pivot Point is the orbit between three up levels, and three down levels. The three up levels call Resistance and the three down levels call Support. It is especially useful to short term; it is also can be used to breakout and/or rang.

• How to calculate the Pivot Point?

Pivot Point for Current = (High (previous) + Low (previous) + Close (previous)) / 3

PP = (H + L + C) /3

Example: 6/8/2010

H = 1.3333
L = 1.3157
C = 1.3276 (on Sunday 9/8/2010)

PP = (1.3333 + 1.3157 + 1.3276) / 3 = 1.3255

The Pivot Point is 1.3255

• Pivot Point and its relation with the Fibonacci?

We do drag Fibonacci in same day from the lowest point (1.3157) to the highest point (1.3333). Thus, The Level 50% of Fibonacci is the Pivot point

The level 50% of Fibonacci = (H – (H-L)) * 50% = (1.3333 – (1.3333 – 1.3157)) * 50% = 1.3245

• Use Pivot Point to calculate Support and Resistance

Resistance: R
Support: S

1st method

R3 = PP + (1.000 * (H – L))
R2 = PP + (0.618 * (H – L))
R1 = PP + (0.382 * (H – L))

PP = (H + C + L) / 3

S1 = PP - (0.382 * (H – L))
S2 = PP + (0.618 * (H – L))
S3 = PP + (1.000 * (H – L))

Example:

H = 1.3333
L = 1.3157
C = 1.3276

R3 = PP + (1.000 * (H – L)) = 1.3431
R2 = PP + (0.618 * (H – L)) = 1.3364
R1 = PP + (0.382 * (H – L)) = 1.3323

PP = (H + C + L) / 3 = 1.3255

S1 = PP - (0.382 * (H – L)) = 1.3188
S2 = PP + (0.618 * (H – L)) = 1.3147
S3 = PP + (1.000 * (H – L)) = 1.3079

• The movement of Pivot Point, Support and Resistance.

• If price at PP, watch for a move back to R1 or S1.
• If price is at R1, expect a move to R2 or back towards PP.
• If price is at S1, expect a move to S2 or back towards PP.
• If price is at R2, expect a move to R3 or back towards R1.
• If price is at S2, expect a move to S3 or back towards S1.
• If there is no significant news to influence the market, price will usually move from P to S1 or R1.
• If there is significant news to influence the market price may go straight through R1 or S1 and reach R2 or S2 and even R3 or S3.
• R3 and S3 are a good indication for the maximum range for extremely volatile days but can be exceeded occasionally.
• Pivot lines work well in sideways markets as prices will most likely range between the R1 and S1 lines.
• In a strong trend, price will blow through a pivot line and keep going.

• When The Pivot Point and The Fibonacci will be valid?

for pivot point use 15 min fibo retracement

The Fibonacci retracement is valid only if price movement on daily basis is in between low and high of that day

price at PP, watch for a move back to R1 or S1

It's a case of Confusion

If yesterday was BEARISH I can decide to BUY NOW and I gotta 80%Probability of SUCCESS.

BUT Yesterday was BULLISH

Yesterday = I meant FRIDAY
